Showcasing the incredible beauty of hand-loomed cotton and natural indigo, the Indus robe is a part of the LOOM collection by Tulasii, working with Malkha, a social movement and grassroots initiative in Hyderabad, India that aims to revive India's traditional weaving arts through a field-to-fabric cotton textile chain that is owned and managed by the farmers, spinners, dyers, and weavers. Malkha's goal is to restore dignity and livelihood, and ultimately financial and functional independence, to each producer in the local cotton making chain.

The term Malkha has been derived from the names of two fabrics - Malmal (lightweight fabric) and Khadi (handspun and hand-woven). This stunning cotton is unique in that it can be worn with comfort year-round ~ cool and breathable to wear in the hot summer months, yet warm enough to layer in the winter.

The dark indigo Indus robe has been dipped eight times in the fermented indigo vats to show the extraordinary beautify of this 'crown jewel' of natural dyes.

Tulasii also offers the light dark indigo Indus robe that has been dipped three times - shop the Indus light indigo robe HERE
